'Opportunities persist' in buy-to-let'
Although many reports might suggest a slowdown in the housing market, profits remain to be made by buy-to-let investors, it is claimed.
The Building Societies Association (BSA) says that the rental property market has been subject to its own nay-sayers predicting poor returns.
However, it claims that, to the contrary, there are still ample opportunities available.
Neil Johnson, public relations policy manager at the BSA, said: There are still people that want to rent and there are still people unable to buy, so while that remains the same there will always be opportunities out there for buy to let investors."
He added that those seeking help with money through buy-to-let properties should be aware of swamped markets and should look to purchase elsewhere.
Meanwhile, a recent survey published by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors stated that the buy-to-let market was becoming inaccessible, meaning "only the wealthy can afford to become landlords".
