'More important than ever' to seek out best deals
It is increasingly important that those using credit cards as a source of help with money shop around for the best possible deals, it has been suggested.
Personal finance watchdog Which? has asserted that, in the wake of the credit crunch, there are significant differences between the best and worst products on the market.
Additionally, the company states that consumers should be aware of new charges "creeping in" on existing cards.
Users should also make sure that their product provides the right kind of help with money for their spending needs - for example, those unlikely to pay off their balance in full might like to take on a card with a zero per cent interest purchase period.
Cathy Neal, senior researcher for Which?, said: "It's more important than ever that people shop around regularly. Even if you've got the best credit card today, keep checking it every two months to make sure that it still is one of the best."
In related finance news, price comparisons site Moneyfacts.co.uk revealed that there had been 125 increases of rates and fees on credit cards in the last two months.
