Insurers warn of Christmas cover risk
Consumers are being advised to make sure they are fully insured in order to avoid losing out financial if their Christmas presents are stolen from them.
Many families face trouble with debt soon after the festive season and the latest finance news from the NFU Mutual suggests that the average British family spends hundreds of pounds on each year on Christmas gifts.
Some people are generous enough to splash out more than £500 on gifts for their friends and family and with this in mind the financial services firm is keen to see consumer goods covered by an appropriate insurance deal.
Laura Wood, spokesperson for NFU Mutual, said: "People do not consider the cumulative value of the gifts which they store or bring into their home during the festive season and it is vital that they remember that the value of these presents will impact on their home contents insurance."
In related finance news, Direct Line recently revealed that British consumers will place a collective total of more than £18.3 billion under their Christmas trees this year.
