Brits cut back 'to pacify partners'
Britons are prepared to cut back on buying themselves luxuries in order to provide their partner with what they want, according to the latest research.
A study carried out by Engage Mutual found that 30 per cent of people are willing to spend their personal finance on their partner rather than on clothes or luxuries for themselves.
Furthermore, 19 per cent are willing to work extra hours to give themselves a help with money to pay for their partner's wants and needs.
Engage has welcomed the findings, suggesting the extra working hours will mean less need for help with debt among the nation's spenders.
"It is encouraging that rather than taking on further debt, people are prepared to work longer hours and cut back on spending in order to treat their partner," says Karl Elliott, 3GB spokesperson for Engage Mutual.
Recent research from Direct Line revealed that Britons were set to spend an average of £385 per person on Christmas presents this year for friends and family members.
