2020 housing target 'is achievable'
The target set by prime minister Gordon Brown for the level of housing construction in the next 13 years is achievable, according to one industry commentator.

The Home Builders Federation (HBF) has asserted that, while current orders for construction have declined of late, this will not necessarily impact on the overall chances of reaching the figure.
John Slaughter, director of external affairs for the HBF, said: "The long-term market fundamentals, which are what we primarily look at, would certainly not suggest that there's any case for reducing the government's housing targets at all."
The money news follows a report on building.co.uk that states there has been an eight per cent fall in the total number of construction orders this year, which rises to 12 per cent when considering only the housing sector.
