SVM funds target cautious investors
Cautious investors looking to safeguard their capital from the volatility currently afflicting the financial markets have been alerted to the launch of two new multi-asset funds.
Launched by SVM Asset Management, the SVM Cautious Managed Fund and SVM Balanced Managed Fund will hold 40 per cent and 15 per cent respectively in an actively managed portfolio of cash and bonds.
The remainder of the funds' assets, meanwhile, will be spread across a range of specialist funds, including private equity, property and hedge funds.
Overseeing the funds management are SVM's managing director Colin McLean and co-founder Donald Robertson, who also manage the SVM Global Opportunities and SVM Global Funds.
Mr Robertson said: "Our truly multi-asset approach, which includes alternative investments, gives us the ability to generate returns which are not reliant on the market growth.
"With market volatility set to continue for the foreseeable future, we believe this is the best way to protect returns."
