New fixed rate bond from Leeds Building Society
Leeds Building Society has announced the launch of a new fixed rate bond for customers seeking a secure investment amid volatility in the financial markets.
The fixed rate Escalator Bond offers investors a return of 5.55 per cent in the first 12 months, with the rate rising to 5.75 per cent, 6.00 per cent, 6.25 per cent and 6.50 per cent in the subsequent years.
Meanwhile, for customers who require an income, a monthly interest option is also available, with an AER of 5.90 per cent.
Access to 50 per cent of the initial capital is permitted tat any time, without incurring a notice or penalty.
Karen Wint, general manger of Leeds' marketing and customer services division, said: "The ability to lock into a rising guaranteed return, combined with instant access to some of the funds at any time, will prove extremely popular.
"I believe this product offers excellent value and peace of mind. Customers know exactly what their return will be as well as having the comfort of knowing that they have instant access, without notice or penalty, to 50 per cent of their funds."
