Nationwide trims rate on fixed rate deals
Nationwide Building Society is to trim rates on a selection of its fixed rate mortgage deals, it has been announced.
As of Friday, the lender will reduce rates on its two year fixes from 6.10 per cent to 5.95 per cent (with a fee) and from 6.5 per cent to 6.35 per cent (without a fee).
Meanwhile, the five year fixed rate product with a fee will be cut from 6.15 per cent to 5.85 per cent.
Cuts of between 0.15 per cent and 0.20 per cent were also introduced for fixed rate deals for re-mortgagers.
Matthew Carter, divisional director for mortgages at Nationwide, said: "Recent reductions in money market swap rates mean we are able to reduce the rates on our two year and five year fixed rate mortgages.
"This is good news for home-buyers, re-mortgage customers and borrowers who are coming to the end of their existing deals."
