Barclays will not scrap Goldfish card reward scheme
Barclays has moved to quash press speculation that it is to scrap the reward scheme offered to Goldfish credit card customers.
The bank acquired the credit card company at the end of last month, with the firm announcing that it was no longer accepting new customers.
Reports also suggested that the scheme, which the Observer had described as one the most generous of its kind on the market, would no longer be offered after the takeover.
However, a statement from Barclays has claimed it had no intention of doing away wit the reward scheme, through which users earn one point for every pound spent.
Barclaycard's managing director of UK cards, Amer Sajed, said: "We will have a strong rewards programme for Goldfish customers as part of our integration plans.
"To suggest otherwise is completely wrong. We will provide final details to customers in the summer."
Under previous terms of the scheme, customers who built up 1,750 points were given a £10 WH Smith voucher.
