Pension 'is top employee benefit'
A company pension is the most popular type of employee benefit, according to a new survey.
Three-quarters (75 per cent) of workers polled by the National Association of Pension Funds (NAPF) said a company pension was important.
The survey also revealed that the availability of a pension scheme could be an important factor in deciding whether or not to stay in a particular job.
"Today's workers still value pensions as a fundamental part of their employment package and believe they remain the best way to save for retirement," said NAPF chief executive, Joanne Segars.
"For employers there is a clear message that providing a workplace pension is rewarded by increased employee loyalty."
Almost a third (30 per cent) of respondents said a pension was the most valuable employee benefit, ahead of flexible working (23 per cent), a bonus (21 per cent) and a generous holiday allowance (11 per cent).
