Landlords get tax advice
Landlords are being offered tax advice by their trade association.
The National Association of Landlords (NLA) has said that it will update information about how the tax system relates to investor buyers.
It is intended to help those landlords running into problems because they do not understand their responsibilities.
"Financial advice for consumers has been hitting the headlines lately, but just as important is accurate information for the 800,000 landlords for whom taxation can be a complicated matter," said Alison Perkins, landlord development manager at the NLA.
"The programme will help keep landlords up-to-date with the many changes that occur in Budget 2008 and help raise standards in the sector, improving the tenant experience."
The housing market is currently undergoing a period of sluggish growth because of the credit crunch.
But over the last decade, solid growth and cheap credit has encouraged thousands of people to enter the buy-to-let market.
