Insurer warns drivers not to falsify information
With car insurance premiums on the rise, motorists have been warned to ignore temptation to attempt to cut their repayments by falsifying information.
According to Gocompare.com, the spiralling costs of insurance could prompt some drivers to provide incorrect or misleading information to car insurance providers.
However, this practice is "a false economy", according to the site, which also warns that those that succumb to temptation could find they have invalidated their car insurance policy.
Instead of running this risk, drivers looking to cut their premiums should shop around to ensure they are getting the best deal possible, according to Hayley Parsons, managing director at Gocompare.com.
She advised: "It might be tempting to alter certain details or omit key information if you think it’ll help you get a better deal, but this could result in your policy being invalidated if you are found out.
"One of the best ways to save money on your insurance is not to just accept your renewal quote, the best company for you 12 months ago, may not be the best today."
