The Yorkshire picks up top savings award
The Yorkshire Building Society has been given a top savings award by a price comparison site.
Moneyfacts.co.uk named the company Best Regular Saver Account Provider this week after conducting a survey of the savings products available from UK providers.
Among the criteria the site used was the rate offered by the provider as well as flexibility it affords the holder.
Chris Smith, Yorkshire's Senior Product Manager said: "We spent a lot of time designing our Regular Saver account to ensure it provided savers with a great rate and an incentive to save on a regular basis, but with sufficient flexibility to ensure it appealed to all savers.
"In the current very competitive savings environment we are delighted that Moneyfacts has recognised the Yorkshire's account as leading the pack in the Regular Saver account market."
Under the terms of the Yorkshire's Regular Saver account a bonus rate of interest is paid to individuals who save from £10 to £500 each calendar month for 12 months, with the standard rate of 6.35 per cent.
Savers can also benefit from a one month ‘savings holiday' each year without forfeiting the bonus.
