The Cheshire targets savers
The Cheshire has unveiled a new savings product offering investors a return of up to 60 per cent over five years.
Savers signing up for the Guaranteed Capital Plus Account, which tracks the performance of the FTSETM 100 Index, are guaranteed growth of at least 21.5 per cent at maturity on deposits when held for the full five year term.
They also benefit from the "reassurance that their capital is 100 per cent secure", the building society said.
Frank Harrington, head of partnerships at Cheshire Building Society, commented: "The Guaranteed Capital Plus Account gives savers the best of both worlds in an uncertain market.
"It offers the potential to benefit from stock market growth with a guaranteed minimum return of 21.5% gross, provided the plan is held for the full five year term. It is ideal for cautious investors who value that reassurance."
The account is available for a limited period until 28th August 2008.
