Prudential launches 'inflation-beating' funds
Prudential has launched two new funds which have been designed to deliver "inflation beating returns" to investors.
The Prudential Diversified Growth Fund and the Prudential Defensive Fund will invest across a range of asset classes and aim to provide returns of CPI plus four per and six per cent over a rolling five-year period respectively
The investment areas to be targeted by the fund will include property, bonds, cash, alternative assets and UK and overseas equities.
Both have been devised to compliment the existing inflation plus five per cent fund offered by the insurance giant.
Martyn Bogira, director of defined contribution solutions at Prudential, said: "We believe that investing in more diverse funds rather than being wholly dependent upon the equity markets will more closely match our customers' risk profiles and reduce overall volatility of investment returns.
"The benefits of increased diversity will ensure that scheme members have access to sectors that offer better relative value at any one particular time."
