New Indian equity fund announced by New Star
Retail investors are being offered the chance to access opportunities in the burgeoning Indian economy with a new equity fund from New Star.
The New Star Indian Equity Fund will utilise an investment strategy centred on a well diversified portfolio of Indian equities with a predominantly large cap bias.
Among the sectors in which the fund will invest are petroleum products, telecommunications services and industrial capital and consumer non-durable goods to target the strong domestic consumption which is driving the expansion of the economy.
Mark Skinner, managing director, New Star Investment Funds, said: "I am delighted to announce the details of the New Star Indian Equity Fund, which is being launched with a three-week offer period starting on June 9th 2008.
"The fund will give UK retail investors access to one of the world's strongest growth markets."
Minimum investment in the fund is £3,500 and the minimum top up is £500.
