Motorists can 'cut costs with credit card fuel incentives'
Credit cards with fuel incentives offer a great way for motorists to cut their motoring costs, a price comparison site has advised.
Latterly motorists have been hit by soaring petrol costs and higher insurance premiums, both of which have fuelled a huge rise in the cost of motoring.
However, according to Esther James, an analyst at Moneyfacts.co.uk, credit cards offered by Asda and Shell afford drivers an excellent opportunity to cut their expenses.
The Shell MasterCard currently offers a three per cent rebate on Shell fuel purchases, while the Asda MasterCard allows holders to receive a rebate of two pence per litre when buying petrol at one of its branches.
Ms James said: "One group hardest hit over the last year is motorists, with sharp increases in road tax planned and petrol prices going through the roof.
"A litre of unleaded fuel can now cost around 116 pence and with no sign of any let up, consumers may need to consider any money saving options that are available to them."
Both cards also include zero per cent balance transfer offers.
