Lloyds TSB raises rates on Plus accounts
Lloyds TSB has raised rates on its Plus current accounts, as it bids to steal a march in the battle for customer deposits.
The Plus range of accounts will now offer customers a rate of six per cent interest for the first 12 months the account is open.
After this point, the rate will revert to four per cent.
To qualify for the deal, consumers must pay at least £1,000 in every month and can put no more than £25,000 into the account.
Catherine McGrath, director of current accounts, Lloyds TSB said: "While many of our competitors are cutting the interest they pay to customers on their current accounts, we're bucking the trend offering one of the best deals on the market.
"By upping the interest we pay on our Plus accounts everyone will be able to make the most of their current account balance."
The bonus offer is running between June 9th and July 13th 2008.
