Liverpool Victoria scoops top award for Mortgage & Lifestyle Protection insurance
Liverpool Victoria's (LV) new mortgage and lifestyle protection insurance has been granted five stars by a financial product rating body.
Defaqto awarded the cover its top mark having praised its flexibility and the ease with which it can be understood by consumers.
Also singled out for praise was the use of guaranteed premiums and the use of tele-interviewing by LV staff with medical backgrounds, which means that non-disclosure becomes the responsibility of the insurer.
Mike Powell, a consultant at Defaqto, said: "LV has designed a product that is flexible, simple and easy to understand, and can be tailored to the consumer's needs.
The Mortgage & Lifestyle Protection offering is a clear example of product development taking into account what consumers actually need, rather than a ‘one size fits all' approach like some other Mortgage Payment Protection Insurance (MPPI) products in the market."
