Halifax unveils home insurance 'loyalty scheme'
Halifax has launched a new incentive to encourage homeowners to switch from their existing home insurance provider.
Under the terms of the offer, all homeowners who buy Halifax buildings and contents cover from today will receive £50.
They will also be given a further £50 for each year they renew their policy with the insurer.
The move comes amid increasing competition among insurers as consumers increasingly shop around before buying cover.
Head of marketing for Halifax Home Insurance, Sarah Cow said: "We developed this offer because customers have told us they feel they should be rewarded for their loyalty to their insurer.
"Other insurers offer discounts and incentives to tempt customers in, but we are the only insurer to reward customers for their loyalty year after year with a £50 thank you."
Halifax claims that people who switch to Halifax buildings and contents cover save £127 on average off their annual buildings and contents premium.
