Brits skimping on car insurance
The cost of cover is the most important criteria used by drivers when shopping around for car insurance, a survey has shown.
In a poll conducted by from Fairinvestment.co.uk, 57 per cent of those polled said that the price of the policy was the most important factor to them.
This was followed by the level of cover, which was deemed most important by 19 per cent of the sample.
Meanwhile, five per cent said that the provision of a courtesy car is their top priority.
Commenting on the findings, director of Fairinvestment.co.uk, James Caldwell, warned that prioritising price can be a costly mistake.
He said: "Motorists should be careful choosing their car insurance by price alone, the cheapest car insurance is not always the best and there are other aspects to be taken into consideration.
"I would advise anybody shopping for car insurance to compare deals not just on price but also policy features, some of which may be outlined in the small print."
