Brits cause 5m household accidents annually
Britons are involved in five million household accidents each year, causing total damage of £1.35 billion, a survey has revealed.
In a poll conducted by Tescocompare.com, it was revealed that young children and pets cause total damage of £136 million and £76 million of damage to homes every years.
Meanwhile, DIY mishaps are to blame for £149 million of damage and drinking too much is the root cause of £95 million of the total.
However, all these were outweighed by the £325 million which results from horseplay and messing around.
Paul Baxter of Tescocompare.com said: "As the saying goes accidents do happen - and this research suggests many of us suffer financial loses on an annual basis.
