Update home insurance, Asda warns
Asda financial services has noted that consumers should ensure their home and contents insurance policies are kept up to date.
Following the theft of Conservative party leader David Cameron's bicycle outside a supermarket yesterday, the financial services provider notes that "anyone" can fall victim to crime and should therefore ensure their insurance policy is up to date.
"Cyclists should make sure they're not left out of pocket by ensuring valuable bikes have adequate cover and are always listed amongst their personal possessions," said Gideon Ingham, a spokesperson for Asda financial services.
He added that cyclists should ensure their bike is always securely stored to help deter potential thieves.
Keeping control on personal finance issues such as home and contents insurance could prove to be valuable should a theft occur, the provider notes.
Earlier this week, Asda noted that consumers should be careful to ensure their holiday insurance policy covers lost baggage so that adequate protection is in place should an airport delay occur.
