Switching current accounts 'can help with finances'
Consumers have been urged to take advantage of attractive current account offers to help limit the impact of the credit crunch on their finances.
Alliance & Leicester (A&L) was moved to issue its advice after a study it conducted found that 73 per cent of Britons have recently been forced to make some form of financial cutback.
However, according to the lender, people can make a "real difference" to their financial situation by opting for an account with "a good credit interest rate and interest free overdraft".
These account features will make money management significantly easier, said Emma Walkley, current account manager at A&L.
She added: "In the current economic climate, budgeting is at the forefront of people's minds with our research showing that three quarters of the public have cut back on spending in recent weeks.
"Therefore it is even more important for people to be choosing a current account which will make their money work harder, and give them something back."
