New bond unveiled by Abbey
Abbey has announced the launch of a new bond for customers who want a "guaranteed rate of interest for a fixed period of time".
Available from July 4th, the fixed rate one year bond offers savers an annual return of up to 6.75 per cent on deposits of £30,000 or above.
Meanwhile, sums of £1,000 are subject to a rate of 6.35 per cent, while a rate of 5.08 per cent applies on balances up to £29,999.
The bond also offers a monthly interest option for customers in need of a regular income.
Reza Attar-Zadeh, director of savings and investments at Abbey, said "Fixed rate savings bonds are increasingly in demand as savers look to lock in attractive rates available in the current market.
"This bond offers savers not only a highly attractive rate but one that is available on the high street."
