Debt-struck families encouraged to come forward
Families who are struggling with debt or who have done so in the past have been invited to contribute to a charity campaign.
Citizens Advice is asking families to share their stories to highlight the problem of child poverty and compel to honour its pledge to halve the numbers of children living in this situation by 2010.
Families who are interested in contributing can do so anonymously via the charity's web site.
Johan Jensen, campaigns officer at Citizens Advice, said: "The government has promised to halve child poverty by 2010. Citizens Advice will hold them to account to keep their promise, but to do this we need to hear from families willing to share their story.
"You can tell us in complete confidence, but the information collected nationally will be presented to the government to make sure they know what life is really like for many parents and their children trying to manage day-to-day on very low incomes."
