Brits 'require £64,000 income to feel secure'
Britons have revealed the size of income they would need to feel financially secure in a new poll conducted by the Wealth Confidence Barometer.
Research conducted by the group found that the majority of Britons said they would require an annual wage of £64,000 to make them feel comfortable, the Mirror reports.
Meanwhile, an income of £74,000 is deemed to be necessary for consumers to be able to have anything they desire and a sum of £118,577 a year is the cut off point at which Britons fell they would have more money than they could possibly need.
Mark Hawthorne, of AIG Life Wealth Management which helped conduct the study, said: "By planning carefully, people can be in good financial shape."
The study's findings come as Britons' spending power is being eroded by soaring inflation, with grocery bills, energy costs and higher mortgage payments increasingly eating into incomes.
