British Gas is 'best for dual fuel tariffs'
British Gas Click Energy 5 is the cheapest dual fuel tariff in the UK, it has been discovered.
Moneysupermarket.com compared the cost of tariffs offered by energy companies and found that British Gas' dual fuel tariff is the best value across all of the 14 regions of the UK.
The company was also found to offer the best value electricity only deals in all but two regions.
Paul Schofield, head of utilities at moneysupermarket.com, said the discrepencies in the cost of deals should encourage people to shop around for cover.
He advised: "Further price rises are a daunting prospect for many households, especially in the current economic climate.
"People need to ensure they are on the best tariff for their region and shouldn't be lulled into thinking they will automatically get the cheapest deal if living in a providers 'core' area."
The study also revealed that Atlantic's energy-only tariffs were the best value in eight of the UK regions.
