A&L launches £100 current account incentive
Britons who trade their existing current account for an online account from Alliance & Leicester (A&L) will receive a lump sum of £100, the lender has announced.
To qualify for the offer, customers must switch to A&L's Premier Current Account - an online offering which offers account holders an interest rate of one per cent on balances of up to £2,500 and 0.10 per cent on sums over that amount.
Other features of the offer are a free overdraft for 12 months and complimentary annual multi-trip European travel insurance.
Andy Muddimer, current account manager at the company, said: "With this £100 reward for switching to Alliance & Leicester, we are once again raising the bar in the current account market, and giving people who are not getting a good deal from their current account a real reason to switch."
Research conducted by A&L showed that eight in ten people have not switched account provider over the last five years despite the opportunity it affords to benefit from a higher rate of interest.
