Financial wellbeing drops, Alliance Trust notes
Financial wellbeing has worsened around the UK in recent weeks and months, according to the Alliance Trust's latest "financial reality" report.
A number of key indicators, including how people are coping with their trouble with debt, are used by the trust to establish a picture of the UK's financial reality and the latest report suggests that personal finance problems are becoming increasingly widespread.
In fact, an index based on the latest research indicates that the financial wellbeing of consumers around the country has dropped to one of the lowest levels seen since the studies began 11 years ago.
Shona Dobbie, head of the Alliance Trust Research Centre, said: "Our latest financial reality report highlights how acute the consumer's predicament has become."
"Our measure of consumer wellbeing shows a worsening picture not only for household budgets, but for consumers' net wealth and the economy as well."
Recent price increase introduced by energy firms in the UK could worsen the trouble with money being faced by households around the country, Moneyfacts.co.uk suggested recently.
