Employees 'seek pensions advice from employers'
Employees would welcome improved pensions advice from their employers, it has been claimed.
Holding its first ever Defined-Contribution PensionsConnection meeting last week, the National Association of Pension Funds (NAPF) said that its research indicated a desire for more help with money in this vein.
An online poll conducted by the organisation suggests that almost nine out of ten (87 per cent) experts believe employees seek help with finance advice from their employer about pensions.
NAPF chief executive Joanne Segars said: "Employees do not just want standard information, they want in-depth information, much of which could be bordering on regulated advice.
"It means the skills of the employer have to be widened."
She added that an upcoming review of generic finance advice must focus on the workplace to help employers provide such help with money.
Recently, the NAPF responded to news of falls in stock market values by reassuring those worried about their help with money in retirement that schemes had been taking steps to reduce exposure to risk.
