Consumers express council tax 'hatred'
Consumers around the country have expressed their dislike of council taxes via a recent poll carried out by MSN Money.
According to the results of an MSN survey, council tax was selected as UK consumers' most hated in 79 per cent of cases when it was presented along with any other form of tax.
However, the online content provider behind the research suggests that the results of its own study cannot be attributed to the trouble with debt that is brought on by council tax, because inheritance and income tax are both more costly on an annual basis.
"People are angry that their bills have increased far above the rate of inflation with often little improvement in public services," said MSN Money's editor Alastair Bruce.
"It seems that people simply want a fairer and more transparent council tax system," he added.
MoneyExpert reported recently that trouble with debt is causing thousands of households in the UK to miss their mortgage repayment deadlines every month.
