uSwitch launches home insurance comparison service
Consumers will be able to compare home insurance policies more easily with the launch of a new service from one of the UK's leading price comparison sites.
uSwitch.com's service will cover 40 home insurance schemes and will provide quotes for 98 per cent of the market.
Once users have made a decision they will also be able to buy their cover online directly via the tool or over the phone.
Ashton Berkhauer, insurance manager at uSwitch.com, said: "With last year's summer floods leading to more than 27,500 claims and estimated damage of more than £1 billion, having the right insurance product for your home has never been so important.
"The uSwitch.com service will cover both those with a standard home to those with higher risk and specialist properties, such as those built in flood risk areas. We believe that everyone deserves to get the best product available for their needs."
The service will also include specialist insurance policies such as those for thatched homes, listed buildings and properties located in flood plains.
