Savers urged to make use of 'extra day'
Anyone needing to reassess their long-term savings plans has been encouraged to make use of February 29th.
The so-called extra day, because 2008 is a leap year, has been set aside by financial services firm Alliance Trust to give Britain's pensions a spring clean.
The firm has arranged a web chat with two of its pension experts.
It is intended to provide an opportunity for people to ask questions and get advice about their long-term savings plans.
The web chat is aimed at all savers, from those who have not yet made any pension arrangements to people just looking to fine tune their plans.
This comes amid growing concern about traditional pensions.
Just last week, trustees were warned that longer life expectancy could mean that some of their provisions will turn out to be insufficient.
