Now is the time to invest in an Isa, experts warn'
Falling share prices have made the present an ideal time to invest an individual savings account (Isa), experts have said.
According to Anna Bowe, of advisers at AWD Chase de Vere, in times of market volatility potential investors are often prone to wait before committing to purchasing shares on the grounds that they may become cheaper in weeks to come.
However, this is the wrong approach to take, she says, since in so doing, they risk missing out on a bargain altogether.
Ms Bowes told the Observer: "If you hold out too long, you not only risk losing your Isa allowance for this tax year but could end up investing when prices are higher."
Her comments were echoed by Karen Ritchie, independent financial adviser at Financial Planning for Women, who said that although prices may fall further, this is not important since Isas should be regarded as a long-term investment.
