Interest rates 'to fall further'
Interest rates are set to fall further despite concerns about inflation, one expert has suggested.
The Bank of England cut the cost of borrowing in December last year and again at its meeting earlier this month.
The Bank's monetary policy committee (MPC) will meet again next week and speculation is already mounting about which way it will go.
Paul Dale of Capital Economics is expecting further falls, although not necessarily in March.
He said the base rate will eventually "fall to around four per cent", which would be more than one per cent lower than its current level.
"We think they're going to take their time due to inflation concerns," Mr Dale added.
The MPC is facing a difficult balancing act with inflationary pressure on the one hand and fears about a slowing economy on the other.
