Ford customers are most loyal, car insurance firm reveals
Ford drivers whose cars have been written off in an accident are more likely to replace their motor with a model from the same manufacturer than drivers of other manufacturers' vehicles, a study has shown.
The finding was revealed after car insurance provider Admiral survey the 16,000 claims it received last year from owners of written off vehicles and found that 40.3 per cent of Ford owners replaced their car with another Ford.
The second and third-placed marques in the brand loyalty stakes were revealed to be Volkswagen with 33.9 per cent and 35.9 per cent respectively.
Admiral managing director, Sue Longthorn said: "These figures show that Ford and Volkswagen are making an excellent impression on their owners as they are the most loyal when it comes to replacing their cars.
Seat and Hyundai were found to be the brands which retain the least customers with rates hovering around 15 per cent mark.
At the opposite end of the list, the brands retaining the least customers after a write off are Seat and Hyundai with loyalty rates 14.8 per cent and 15.3 per cent respectively.
