Financial advice launched for young people
In a drive to tackle financial problems experienced by young people two charities have launched a new initiative.
Citizens Advice and YouthNet are targeting young adults aged 16 to 25 via podcasts, websites and text messages.
The drive comes after a previous study from Citizens Advice revealed that just one in eight young people struggling with debt would seek help at one of its bureaux.
The new scheme aims to lessen any stigma about seeking out debt solutions is funded by financial giant HBOS.
"We funded this ground-breaking programme, working with these two unique and respected charities, so that they can combine their unique areas of expertise and support and advise young people on the whole range of money issues that affect their lives," HBOS manager Janet Roberts said.
YouthNet and Citizens Advice hope to reach 500,000 youngsters vulnerable to debt through the project."
