elephant.com study shows link between car accidents and star signs
Drivers’ abilities behind the wheel - or lack of - could be influenced by the year in which they were born, a study by car insurance provider elephant.co.uk suggests.
The online car insurance specialist collated information of two million of its policyholders, which was then compared to the birth dates of those involved.
Perhaps surprisingly, it was found that some signs are significantly more likely to hold a motoring conviction or have an accident than others.
Topping the list of the most hazardous signs to get in car with are sheep, (who would have been born in 1943, 1955, 1967 or 1979), with monkeys (1944, 1956, 1968, 1980) coming a close second.
However, rabbits (1951, 1963, 1975, 1987) and tigers (1950, 1962, 1974, 1986) make the safest drivers with less convictions and accidents on their records than any other signs.
elephant.co.uk managing director, Brian Martin said: "Having looked at the character traits of the different animals in the Chinese zodiac, we might have expected fiery dragons to be the most likely to have motoring convictions.
He added: "We certainly wouldn’t have expected unpredictable Tigers to be some of the safest drivers, but perhaps more likely to be the most accident-prone."
