New services 'help consumers manage money'
As the new year looms, some personal finance institutions are unveiling new services intended to provide help with money for consumers in the year ahead.
NatWest and RBS are both offering a new e-statement service intended to allow consumers to better manage their personal finance products over the internet.
Online banking customers will be able to opt out of paper statements and instead be provided with the information electronically.
David Gillespie, Director, Retail Markets said: "Our objective is to provide excellent service to our customers and offer them a choice in how they manage their money.
"We believe the introduction of paperless statements means customers can keep tabs on their expenditure and their account balance with the minimum effort."
He added that a new instant access service available to customers through the institutions' websites would once again increase the ease with which they will be able to look after their money.
Recently, NatWest stated that a lack of good personal finance advice from parents was being received negatively by their offspring, who need strong advice as they become established.
