Brits 'need to get in financial shape'
Only one in one hundred people in the UK are in the best personal finance condition they could be, finance news released today suggests.
Mortgage lender and personal finance services provider Abbey has stated that, according to its research, 43 per cent of people are financially "overweight" in terms of credit cards, loans and other borrowing.
Having assessed the overall fiscal fitness of Britons in terms of what products they hold, how they seek out better deals and the competitiveness of deals currently used, Abbey states that many could do more to seek out the best help with money.
Sue Hayes, director at Abbey, says: "As many gear up to shift the pounds they pile on over the festive period, we would encourage people to review the financial products they hold and shop around to ensure that they are getting the most competitive deal available."
She added that undertaking a review required effort but that "the rewards are well worth the exertion".
Recent money news from the personal finance firm established that 16.6 million people intend to go online to avoid the Christmas rush on the high street this year.
