ABI: UK flood cover 'is nearly unique'
The Association of British Insurers (ABI) has congratulated its members on their response to the flooding experienced by much of the UK this year.
Claiming that the flood cover provided by UK insurers is "almost unique", the organisation has stated that services provided by insurers is "extremely valuable" to consumers and businesses needing help with money.
Meanwhile, the government has initiated a Lessons Learnt Review intended to make sure that future help with finance is in place should further flooding occur.
"Evidence from an opinion survey commissioned by the ABI in the flooded areas suggests that residents have a positive view of the response both of their local authority and their insurance company," the association claims.
Meanwhile, the Royal Bank of Scotland has added its own comments to the finance news, asserting that it fully supports the policy paper put forward by the ABI regarding future responses to the flooding threat.
