Homeowners urged to consider legal cover with home insurance
Homeowners have been urged to consider opting for legal cover when they take out a home insurance policy.
According to Kelly Oster of the Association of British Insurers, one of the crucial selling points of legal cover for homeowners is that it pays for legal costs in the event of a row with neighbours.
This could prove to a prudent financial decision since "legal expenses can be very pricey if you have any kind of dispute".
Ms Kelly added: "If you think [that] if you were to get into a legal argument you would not be able to afford those expenses, then it is something you should be thinking about when you take out your home insurance policy."
A recent study conducted by Allianz Insurance found that 1.1 million Britons have had a dispute with their neighbours.
The most common bone of contention in these disputes was noisy behaviour or excessively loud music.
